The Old City of Sana'a

Yemen is a country full of culture and traditions. The Old City of Sana'a still looks pretty much the same as it did 100 years ago, with its old characteristic houses and markets, where handicrafts, clothes, spices, etc. are sold in little shops.  Suq al-Milh, the central market, actually consists of several smaller suqs, each one specializing in one sector of business, like spices, pottery, daggers, cloth, carpentry, etc. The markets are always busy with men and women bargaining with clever salesmen for the lowest prices.

Al-Nakhla Background Information

Al-Nakhla started about three years ago  and is run by a Dutch-Yemeni Muslima who has lived in Yemen for about fifteen years. Her aim is to make Yemeni products available to people all over the world and make the gap between the Islamic world and the west a little smaller.

Update on the German Embargo on Yemeni Parcels

Unfortunately, about a year and a half ago, quite a few countries imposed a ban on parcels from Yemen. This embargo has still not been lifted in most of these countries. However, we are currently able to ship up to 2 kg. to most countries again (excluding France) and up to 5 kg. per EMS.  Inshallah we'll get back to normal soon...
